FRONT OF HOUSE – WAITER / WAITRESS
We are looking for a Waiter/Waitress to join our team of culinary and front-of-house stars at Fischer’s Baslow Hall
The Role
This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual to work for a UK-leading team with unrivaled opportunities for career progression.
As Waiter/Waitress you will work within a tightly knit team under the guidance of the Fischer’s senior restaurant team.
You will use your excellent communication skills and passion for all things food and wine to provide guests with an outstanding dining experience. They will remember your attention to detail and in-depth knowledge of the menu as much as the stunning food on their plates.
Among other responsibilities, you will manage a section of the restaurant and communicate clearly with other members of the team to ensure guests receive a seamless, impeccable service. Outside of service times, you will engage in training programmes, stock, and waste management, work schedules, continuous improvement programmes, and be part of the forward-thinking team associated with innovation and progression.

CHEF DE PARTIE
We are looking for a Chef de Partie to join our team of culinary and front-of-house stars at Fischer’s Baslow Hall – the award-winning and much-talked-about restaurant with rooms, which most recently received 4 red stars from the AA.
The food at Fischer’s is bold but beautiful, vibrant, and inventive, but with zero interest in gimmicks and trends. Our Head Chef’s menu starts with the best quality ingredients, including locally sourced and foraged produce, which is crafted into unique dishes that will stir up memories for years to come. Matched with a range of premium and hard-to-find wines, it’s no wonder that our guests return time and time again.
Alongside our food, we are proud of the warm, exceptional service that Fischer’s has become renowned for. Every guest leaves Fischer’s feeling relaxed, revived, and confident that they have enjoyed the absolute best in warm Derbyshire hospitality.
The Role
As a Chef de Partie, you get to oversee a section of the kitchen. You will report to the Sous Chef and Head Chef. The position will allow you to further learn a restaurant’s culinary procedures, build stamina to handle high-pressure situations, and learn about multiple duties so that you can better determine your goals for career advancement. The job allows you to prove your commitment while working under different section chefs.
Key Duties
- Preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes
- Managing and training any demi-chef de parties or commis working with you
- Helping the sous chef and head chef to develop new dishes and menus
- Ensuring you and your team have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
- Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins

The Role
As commis chef, you will work at many stations to learn how the kitchen operates. The position will allow you to learn a restaurant’s culinary procedures, build stamina to handle high-pressure situations and learn about multiple duties so that you can better determine your goals for career advancement. The job allows you to prove your commitment while working under different section chefs.
Key Duties
- Preparation of ingredients for more senior chefs
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene
- Rotating food, putting away inventory, and dealing with deliveries
- Measuring ingredients and sizing portions accurately
- Learning about food safety techniques
- Food preparation, including; chopping vegetables, stocking stations, organizing ingredients, and partly cooking some food
