The Restaurant

A meal at Fischer’s is the ultimate fine dining experience. Our Head Chef John Shuttleworth and team, have crafted a menu that pairs beautifully with the hand-picked selection of wines on offer. They have perfected the art of wine and food harmony, heightening flavours, and making each and every ingredient sing. Guests can expect a focus on homegrown, and sustainably produced ingredients, carefully selected from local producers and handpicked from the kitchen gardens.

Relax in our charming lounge before dining, savouring perfectly poured aperitifs. You’ll find a homely log fire blazing in the magnificent fireplace throughout the winter months. In summer the imposing double doors stand open to the terrace, enticing you outside to enjoy the warmth, our beautiful gardens and the glorious rolling Derbyshire hills beyond.

PERFECTLY SET

The dining room is classically set: crisp white table cloths and napkins, polished silver cutlery, and gleaming glassware. A perfect setting in which to enjoy our inventive modern British cuisine.

Dress Code

There is no strict dress code, just smart casual is our suggestion. 

Children

We welcome children in the dining room or on the Kitchen Bench aged 8 over and can accommodate children under 8 in one of our private dining rooms (subject to availability).

Summer Terrace

Our beautiful Summer Terrace returns for alfresco dining from 15th May 2026. 

Whether you are after a light bite, a leisurely à la carte lunch, or just snacks and a refreshing drink in the sun, our summer menu is designed for relaxed moments.

Restaurant cancellation policy

We kindly request a minimum of 72 hours’ notice should you need to cancel your booking or amend the number of guests in your party.

Cancellations made within 72 hours of the booking will incur a charge per person.
• Lunch bookings will be charged at £35 per person (equivalent to a two-course lunch).
• Dinner bookings will be charged per person, subject to the menu selected.

Charges will be applied to the credit or debit card provided. At the Duty Manager’s discretion, bookings and payments may be transferred to an alternative date if you wish to rebook.

Please note that reductions in party size not advised within the required notice period will also be subject to the above charges.

Bookings over 8 guests can be cancelled with up to 72 hours’ notice however a 20 percent total booking value will be retained.
Restaurant bookings for parties of 20 + guests will be subject to charge in full if the number of guests decreases from what was agreed 7 days out from the date of booking.

Dietary Requirements

Please note we cannot cater for food dislikes. We can, however, offer changes to our menu for strict allergies and intolerances, and can arrange a vegetarian or pescatarian menu given 48 hours’ notice. We are unable to cater for vegans.

We use nuts, fish, egg, shellfish, milk, and gluten products within our kitchens, and it is impossible to fully guarantee separation of these items in storage, preparation or cooking. Many ingredients such as dairy, onions, garlic, peppers, seasonings, and alcohol are an integral part of our team’s preparation and food style, to that end all dishes will contain traces as it is not possible to isolate them entirely.
