“AA Hospitality Awards Rising Star Winner” Nataliia Maiseionok
We are thrilled and immensely proud to announce that our talented wine sommelier, Nataliia Maiseionok, affectionately known as “Tasha,” has received the prestigious “AA Rising Star Award” at the AA Hospitality Awards 2025. The awards ceremony took place on Monday night at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London, where over 1,000 industry guests gathered for a glittering, star-studded event.
The event highlighted the very best in British hospitality, honouring achievements across 18 categories. To read about all the Hospitality Awards winners, click here. This award recognises an individual who has demonstrated exceptional drive, dedication and leadership within their current role in the hospitality industry.
Tasha joined Fischer’s Baslow Hall in November 2022, shortly after arriving in the UK from war-torn Ukraine. Unable to speak a word of English and keen to learn, she enrolled herself at the local college and night school.
After successfully passing her English exams, she began to focus on her newfound passion, “wine” and more specifically, how it pairs with food. Much like a marriage, a poor pairing can lead to disastrous results, but when done right, the combination is nothing short of heavenly.
After completing her WSET Level 1, a gift, she quickly progressed to Levels 2 and 3, demonstrating her leadership in wine service and reflecting her extensive knowledge and passion for the field.
Her story is one of quiet dedication, professional excellence and a deep love for hospitality. She truly embodies the AA’s motto of “Courtesy and Care”, making her a deserving recipient of the AA Rising Star Award.
Tasha’s passion for wine, paired with the enthusiasm of our Head Chef, John Shuttleworth, creates an exceptional dining experience at Fischer’s. Whether you are seeking a wine recommendation to complement a light lunch or are ready to indulge in our exquisite tasting menu accompanied by a wine flight, you can be assured of a delightful treat.
Neil Fischer, Managing Director, Fischer’s Baslow Hall said :-
“Tasha is a shining example of everything the Rising Star Award embodies; she has demonstrated remarkable strength, unwavering commitment and grace throughout her nearly three-year journey.
Tasha is one of many rising stars in our team, which includes aspiring restaurateurs, biochemists, business students and those pursuing a master’s in law. Each of them is a superhero in their own way. While their passions may vary, we all share a common goal: to strive for greatness, foster family connections and pursue excellence.
We are enormously proud that the AA has recognised us as one of the top hotels across the UK for 2025, further solidifying our reputation both nationally and internationally for outstanding hospitality.
I would like to sincerely thank the AA Hotel & Hospitality Services for graciously hosting this prestigious award ceremony and we extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the winners.”
Simon Numphud, Managing Director at AA Media, expressed his pride in the resilience and creativity shown by the UK’s hospitality sector in 2025:
“This celebration highlights the passion, creativity and resilience that define UK hospitality. The teams have turned challenges into opportunities, inspiring us with their innovation and dedication.
Congratulations to all winners, nominees and new Rosette holders, your achievements deserve recognition today and set a shining example for the future of our industry.”
