DiningOn the following pages we offer a selection of menus to give you an indication of the styles of dishes and approximate prices. Please note that these menus are continually changing and are for indication purposes only. .jpg "main_dining_room(wince).jpg") Renowned for its fine food our Michelin-starred Dining Room enjoys an outstanding reputation among connoisseurs for its comfort and gastronomy, continuing to surprise and delight the many returning guests. .jpg "braised_beef_(wince).jpg") Max and his Head Chef, Rupert Rowley, have collected a clutch of culinary accolades for their imaginative cuisine. As you would expect, they cook with the season making use of the very best of local produce which might include Derbyshire Spring Lamb, Chatsworth Venison, and Wild Hare alongside imported essentials such as Foie Gras and Truffles. Whatever the time of year our menu features superbly executed classical favourites as well as those dishes designed to appeal to the more adventurous palate. In addition, a less expensive, limited choice 'Menu du Jour' is offered Sunday - Friday evenings.  Rupert Rowley, Head Chef & his brigade Foie Gras Statement We would like our customers to know that our Foie Gras is sourced from a French Supplier who has been producing old fashioned Foie Gras for the past 82 years and has full EEC approval. The Foie Gras is from the Moulard Breed of Ducks. It is a migrating breed that naturally gorges itself to prepare for long flights. It is totally free range and being 'naturally hungry' no force feeding takes place. Its liver is naturally large as a result of its own lifestyle. We can assure you that we do not and have no desire to use the livers of force fed birds. Dress Code Please note that our dress code is 'Smart Casual' : strictly no jeans, t-shirts or trainers. To respect the feelings of the vast majority of our guests we reserve the right to refuse entry to customers who are inappropriately dressed. Special Dietary Needs We endeavour to accommodate guests' dietary requirements whenever possible. However, many ingredients such as onions, garlic, peppers, seasonings and alcohol are an integral part of our basic preparations and it is not possible to isolate them entirely from dishes. Where guests are intolerant of these basic ingredients, we can offer the very best of fresh ingredients, prepared in a simple manner. |
