We are delighted to announce a collaboration with James Wood of Totally Wild Foraging. Having been in love with the wild world since childhood, James spent many years developing his skills and knowledge of all things “wild” from mushroom paper to elder berry salt. James is now seen as one of the UK’s top foraging and wild food experts, he’s on a mission to share this knowledge and show people that wild food is not only everywhere, it can taste amazing.
Our Head Chef
A native Yorkshireman, Head Chef Rupert Rowley has previously worked with Raymond Blanc, John Burton Race and Gordon Ramsey before returning to his roots in 2002 when he joined the Fischer’s Team. Rupert has a passion for simple, well cooked food, sourcing the best home-grown and local produce wherever possible.
We will explore the fantastic grounds surrounding Baslow Hall to discover the huge abundance of wild ingredients that lie a stone’s throw from the tables you dine at. From flowers that taste like pineapple to leaves that taste of aniseed you will be guided through this culinary journey by one of Totally Wild UK’s professional foragers. Return for a lunch menu inspired by your day’s bountiful harvest and enjoy truly local, seasonal and fresh wild ingredients at their best.
